Last part of the project WomInCreativePower of was dedicated in collecting recordings about the experiences of migrant and refugee women, where they talked about support for their integration into the European societies promoting a sense of identification and belonging.

The partner organizations also created and tested a board game to encourage the entrepreneurial mindset, especially among women. It aimed at promoting the social and economic participation of migrant and refugee women through hands-on instruction.

Meet Serine, an Armenian woman, who established an Armenian Choir in Luxembourg.

This video was produced as part of our WomInCreativePower (WICP) project, which is a KA2 Strategic Partnership co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union – Luxembourgish National Agency Anefore. The project is led by Formation et Sensibilisation de Luxembourg – FSL (Luxembourg), and involves a transnational partnership with Sweden (SwIdeas AB), Hungary (SVF), and Slovenia (Povod).

WICP aims to support the economic integration of migrant women into their receiving communities by investing in the development of skills related to entrepreneurship and to the creative sector. This approach emerges from the perception that self-employment and entrepreneurship represent a promising pathway for migrant women to access the labor market.

Meet the SwIdeas team, Julia and Lavinia, also the dynamic duo behind the management and implementation of the WomIn Creative Power project in Sweden.

As foreign-born women in Sweden and Project Managers/Coordinators of the WICP program, Julia and Lavinia share their experiences and insights into the project, which is coming to an end soon. They hope that the outputs of WICP, including the transnational research report, mentorship and tandem training programs, alongside with promotional videos, had a positive impact on the women who participated.

Multiplier event in STPLN in Malmö

On the 9th of June the SwIdeas team held a multiplier event in STPLN in Malmö as part of the Women in Creative Power project! The event was held as a workshop series, where 5 creative female entrepreneurs with foreign backgrounds had the chance to showcase their work and hold short sessions on music production Lora Grigorova, creative painting @lorena Ojeda, tea culture for community building Dakota Lagercrantz, tufting techniques Daniela Doe, storytelling & brand markenting! Meet Lora Grigorova, Super Muñeca who is a DJ, music producer and audiovisual artist based in Malmö, Sweden, but with multicultural roots from Portugal and Bulgaria

SwIdeas had the pleasure of meeting Lora within “Women in Creative Power” EU project, both as a mentee during the mentorship program, and as a participant in the tandem training for creative skills. Lora held also a workshop on the basics of music production during the WICP multiplier event, where she showed the participants that producing music is fun and accessible!

Meet one of Povod WICP’s leaders and team members in Slovenia, Safa Hasan, a painter and research assistant coming from Baghdad and Living in Ljubljana.

Safa contributed to the early stages of WICP in Slovenia, starting from the research phase to the mentorship program, and recently by providing her workshop “Painting is for All” during the multiplier event of WICP in June in Slovenia.

Safa is also one of the co-founders of SIDE, Solidarity In Daily Effort Migrant women cooking and cleaning Politics, Cultures, and Arts.
